Indian Institute of Management Lucknow or IIML was set up in year 1984 by the government of India, in the outskirts of historical and culturally vibrant city of Lucknow. IIML was aimed to be made a national level school of excellence in management sciences. IIML conducts a wide range of academic activities and interventions to ensure creation, dissemination, and application of management knowledge and practices. This effort helps IIML to reach near fulfilling its mission that is aimed at making IILM, "a global, socially conscious and integrated school of management, contributing towards management development, both in India and abroad."Time to time, IIML enters into collaborative arrangements with leading business schools and research centers in India, Canada, Europe, South and Southeast Asia. Spread over 185 acres, IIM-Lucknow campus is an ideal setting conducive to learning. The campus, set in a serene and verdant environ, not only provides an excellent ambience for the community’s academic endeavors but also enables them with an opportunity to unwind. The intricate planning to ensure that nature is maintained at its splendid best in a campus replete with ergonomically designed buildings ensures well-manicured lawns and stands of large trees on a beautiful virgin site that makes IIM-Lucknow one of the most beautiful campuses in India.
The campus is located amidst serene surroundings at Prabandh Nagar about 21 kms from Lucknow Railway Station and 31 kms from Lucknow Airport.
